MetaMask Snaps are like plugins that extend what MetaMask can do. For SPACE ID, the Snap is what allows MetaMask to fully support your domains and Payment IDs.
Here’s the breakdown 👇
- If you use MetaMask: You need to install the official SPACE ID Snap. Without it, MetaMask can’t recognize your SPACE ID domains or Payment IDs.
- If you use other wallets: Domains usually work natively. No Snap or plugin is required.
- Payment IDs: Currently, Payment IDs work only on MetaMask with the Snap. Other wallets support domains but not Payment IDs (yet).
Example:
🔑 With the Snap installed on MetaMask, you can send to example.bnb or even a Payment ID example@binance
🚫 Without it, MetaMask won’t understand these names, and you’ll have to use the long wallet address.
